About Cedar Brake

Real equipment.
An owner who shows up.

Cedar Brake Landworks helps southeast Georgia property owners turn thick, neglected land into something they can actually use — with the owner still on the job.

The man behind the work

Built around the land.

Cedar Brake Landworks started in 2014 with one used track loader, a grapple, and a lot of small jobs around southeast Georgia. Owner Wade Mercer had already spent years around timber, equipment and rural property, and he kept seeing the same problem: people owned land they could barely use.

What began with fence lines, storm cleanup, trails and overgrown lots grew into a full-time land-clearing and forestry-mulching company. Today Cedar Brake runs multiple tracked machines, an excavator, mulching equipment and its own hauling equipment — but Wade is still directly involved in estimating and operating.

What we believe

The way we work every job.

Clear toward a goal

The best clearing job starts with understanding what the property should do when we are finished. That decides the equipment, the method and how far we take it.

Tell it straight

Wade will say when forestry mulching is enough and when it is not — when stumps stay, when roots resprout, when grading or hauling is required. No promises a method cannot keep.

Stay accountable

Six people, two crews, and the owner on most larger jobs. The company stays small enough that somebody is always responsible for the result.

The fleet

Equipment for more than one kind of clearing.

Our fleet gives us more than one way to approach the same property, so the method follows the land rather than the other way around.

Foreman Caleb Raines runs the second crew when Wade is elsewhere, so there is always someone on site who knows the plan. Request an estimate and Wade reviews most larger projects himself.
